Cooby Dam wall picnic area is one of two picnic areas around Cooby Dam and can be accessed from Pipeline Road. The area offers walking tracks, shelters and free gas barbecue facilities. There is no water access for boating - it is a picnic area only. Alcohol is not permitted at this location.

Sometimes, these facilities are closed to the public. When this happens, the road access gate will be closed at the end of Pipeline Road.

Lakeside Walk

Best for: Bushwalking

Classification: Grade 3

Distance: 4422m one way

Walking time: Approximately 90 minutes return

Description: The walk is mainly easy, with a moderate climb in the middle. The lake is water supply for the Toowoomba Region and is a habitat with waterbirds and rich population of bush birds, particularly along the trail. If you sit quietly you may be able to also see a wide range of wildlife including koalas, possums, echidna and wallabies. Please leave your pets at home.
