Before disposing of hazardous waste it is important be educate yourself on the safest way to do so without causing harm to yourself or the environment.

Asbestos should be dampened, double wrapped in builder's plastic and sealed before taking to a waste facility for disposal. It must remain sealed after unloading at the facility. Asbestos from domestic customers only can be received at the Greater Toowoomba Waste Management Facility, Goombungee, Jondaryan, Yarraman, Millmerran and Pittsworth waste facilities. At many of our waste management facilities, Council offers recycling opportunities to domestic customers for paint, household chemicals and motor oil. For details on what waste can be taken to your local waste facility click here. Council is unable to take hazardous chemicals, paints and oils from commercial customers. Commercial customers are encouraged to seek an alternative recycling option for your waste.
