Australia Day public holiday - Monday 28 January
To let our staff celebrate Australia Day, we will be closed on Monday 28 January. Staff will return on Tuesday 29 January. Exceptions apply to our pools and waste facilities (find the relevant open hours below).
On Monday 28, if you experience one of the following problems please call us on 131 872:
Milne Bay Aquatic & Fitness Centre
Don't worry, we'll still be open on the Australia Day public holiday. Come down and enjoy some fun from 7am - 7pm!
Highfields Fitness & Recreation Centre
The pool and gym open hours for the public holiday will be 9am - 5pm. Group fitness and creche will be closed.
At 9.15am join us for a free and fun Aqua Aerobics class and from 12 - 2pm the kids can test their skills on the inflatable obstacle course.
BBQ bookings for the day are available online via the booking form located under the blue slider 'BBQ and outdoor space'.

All facilities will be open on Monday 28 January.
Please ensure that your bins are on the kerbside for collection by 6am or by 5am in the Toowoomba CBD area on Monday 28 (if Monday is your normal collection day).

Community Development Officers
Community Development Officers (CDO’s) service all parts of Toowoomba Region. The team formally known as Community Liaison Officers (or CLO’s) now belong within the Community Development team. Community Development Officers continue to be the first point of contact between community groups and Council and all staff based at district service centres remain as per previous working arrangements. The Community Development team assist community groups to understand Council programs or initiatives (e.g. Council’s grants program, park booking applications, road closures etc.) and can offer assistance with enquiries related to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander (ATSI) and Culturally and Linguistically Diverse (CALD) communities, seniors, youth and people with disabilities.
