Out of the box exhibition showcases Crows Nest talent

The Artists of Crows Nest Inc. group has cancelled this Sunday’s (November 24) opening event planned at the Crows Nest Regional Art Gallery for its current exhibition, Out of the box.

The group last week rescheduled the opening function due to the bushfire emergency, but art admirers can view the exhibition at the Gallery, corner of the New England Highway and William Street, until December 15.

The exhibition is the collective’s annual showcase of members’ works, which this year was titled, Out of the box, in a bid to draw artists out of their normal practice.

Artists were challenged to create works with bold or unusual concepts.

The 17 artists represented in this year’s exhibition work across a range of mediums, including painting, drawing, sculpture, 3D, mixed media and mosaic.

Artists interested in applying to exhibit at the Crows Nest Regional Art Gallery in 2020 have until Tuesday (November 26) to submit their applications.

Applications can be sent to Crowsnestart@tr.qld.gov.au or call 4698 1687 during office hours.

Usual Gallery Opening Hours: Tuesday - Saturday: 10.30am to 3.30 pm; Sunday: 11.30am to 3.30pm (Closed Mondays and public holidays) Admission is free.
