Toowoomba Regional Council (TRC) is embracing new technology to deliver greater service options to ratepayers.
Toowoomba Regional Council’s Finance and Business Strategy portfolio leader, Councillor Megan O’Hara Sullivan, is pleased TRC is strategically implementing digital technology.
“TRC is committed to delivering greater service to our ratepayers and this new option to receive rates notices via email is a great example of Council listening to community needs and integrating technology.
“Council launched the email option at the start of August and we have already had many ratepayers sign up for the free electronic service,” Cr O’Hara Sullivan said.
Ratepayers can now visit TRC’s website and register to have their rates and water notices emailed to them directly for each property they own.
TRC’s adoption of digital technology will provide savings in administration costs that will enable more funding to be allocated for greater on-ground services to the community.
“This electronic delivery method will not only provide a faster, more efficient service, it will also offer a cost-efficient delivery option that is more environmentally friendly.
“The online sign-up form is really quick and easy to use and can be found on our website at www.tr.qld.gov.au/EmailMyRates,” Cr O’Hara Sullivan concluded.
Toowoomba Region ratepayers will continue to receive their rates notices by standard mail unless they opt-in for the free email service.
